How The Cutter Works, 2008
HD video transfered to DVD, 01.00 min

A short one minute film that documents ‘snigging’ – a traditional method of removing felled timber from woodland using a working horse. Filmed in Cumbria, where invasive conifers are being felled to restore an ancient oak forest, the soundtrack is a voice from a 1940’s home-made acetate disk, describing the mechanics of a record-cutting lathe.
